Introducing Features on Creations, and an open invitation to BSV News & Announcements
Lately, I have been noticing a lot of tweets from people in BSV: developers building apps, posting repositories, launching websites and wallets, even showing how to send BSV without the Internet, using radio instead. Many of these announcements are breakthroughs, things that have not been done before, or at least not that I or most of the public were aware of.
All of this is exciting. The problem is that on Twitter, they get a day or two of attention before they are buried under our timelines, mostly never to be seen again.
This is where I want Creations to be different. I want to give those announcements, those historical moments, a home where they can easily be found weeks or months later. And more than that, I want to work towards getting more people to know about them, without an algorithm deciding how many people get to see all the great work you BSV people are doing out there.
So today I am introducing Features on Creations. The first one, BSV News & Announcements, is open for anyone building on BSV to publish their news.
What a Feature is
A Feature is a page that gathers articles on one theme. You find them all at [bsvsearch.com/creations/features](https://bsvsearch.com/creations/features). Articles get into a Feature in two ways: I choose them as editor, or writers send in their own.
Each Feature page lets readers decide how to look at it. They can sort by newest, most supported, most tipped or most bought. They can show everything, only free articles or only paid ones. And because articles can now say which places they are about, readers can filter by where: a town, a region or a country.
Signed-in members can also follow a Feature, and get an email when something new is added.
BSV News & Announcements
The first Feature is for news from the people building the BSV economy:
bsvsearch.com/creations/features/bsv-news-announcements
It welcomes:
- New BSV tools, apps and websites;
- Launches, releases and events;
- Explanations of how things can be done on BSV;
- News from the people directly involved, and commentary from those who follow and promote BSV projects.
It is not the place for price charts, technical analysis, exchange-rate forecasts, or criticism of people and projects that offers nothing better.
What is in it for you
If you are a developer, a founder, or running a business on BSV, here is why I think this is worth your time.
Your news stays findable. On X, an announcement gets an afternoon of attention and then sinks under everything else. An article on Creations has its own page, stays in the Feature, and can be found by anyone who comes looking a week or a month later.
You reach people who came looking for it. Someone who opens BSV News & Announcements is there because they want to know what is happening on BSV. That is a different reader from someone scrolling past.
You get paid in BSV, if you want to be. Publish for free and accept tips, or set a price, or offer a licence for others to reuse your work. The reader's wallet pays yours directly. BSVSearch never holds your money. Publishing costs nothing.
Readers judge by what they actually value.There is no algorithm deciding who gets seen. Readers can sort by what other readers tipped and paid for, so useful work rises because people found it useful.
Followers hear about it. Everyone who follows the Feature gets an email when a new article is added. You do not have to chase anyone.
People nearby can find you. Tag your article with up to three places, and readers looking for BSV news from your town, region or country will find it.
You stay in control. It is your article, your price and your decision. If I add one of your articles to a Feature, you get an email, and you can take it out again.
It builds something lasting. Every article you publish also appears on your own writer page. Readers who like your work can find everything else you have written there, and if you offer it, subscribe to you.
How to take part
1. Sign in to BSVSearch and write an article on Creations.
2. Choose Announcement as its Type, or News report if you are reporting on something you saw happen.
3. Send it to BSV News & Announcements, either from the article form or with the Submit to this Feature button on the Feature page.
Every article on Creations is reviewed before it is published, as always. After that, it is in the Feature, and the readers take it from there.
Your turn
None of this works without you. A home for BSV news is only as good as the news people bring to it.
So if you have built something, launched something or have something coming up, write it down and send it in. I look forward to reading it.
