Version 1.0 — accepted at every purchase. These terms cover buying and selling a work in Creations. The Creator Terms cover submitting one.
1. Who you are paying
You pay the creator directly. Your own wallet sends the payment from your device to the creator’s own verified address; it never passes through BSVSearch. BSVSearch never holds your money, never touches your keys or the creator’s, and is not a payment processor. What BSVSearch does is list the work, display it, check the blockchain to see that your payment arrived, and then give you access.
2. Payments are final — there is no chargeback
Payments on the BSV blockchain cannot be reversed. There is no chargeback, and there is no refund button anywhere in this system, because there is nothing for BSVSearch to reverse — it never received your money. If a creator or BSVSearch ever chooses to send you money back, that is a new, voluntary payment, not a reversal.
Read that before your first purchase, not after. If reversibility matters to you for a particular purchase, do not make it.
3. The platform fee
The price is what you pay. It is split between the two payments your wallet makes: most of it goes to the creator, and a small part — the platform fee — goes to BSVSearch. The fee is 1% of the price or 1,000 satoshis, whichever is greater, plus a small per-invoice offset. Both exact amounts are shown before you pay.
The fee comes out of the price rather than on top of it, so it is the creator, not you, who bears it. Nothing is deducted from anybody along the way — your wallet simply sends two payments instead of one, and BSVSearch never holds either.
On low-priced works the 1,000-satoshi minimum is more than 1%, and on the cheapest works it is a large share of the price. That is why the fee is always stated as “1% or 1,000 satoshis, whichever is greater” and never as a bare “1%”.
Network fees are separate and are yours. Your wallet pays a small fee to the Bitcoin network to send a transaction. BSVSearch neither receives it, sets it, nor controls it, and it is not part of the price.
4. What you are buying — and what you must not do
A personal, non-transferable licence to access one work, in the modes and for the duration shown to you at purchase. You are not buying the work itself, its copyright, or any right to redistribute, resell, republish, or use it to train AI models — unless that work explicitly says AI training use is allowed. The default is that it is not, and every work states its answer before you pay.
Three things you must not do: get around the paywall by any technical means; use somebody else’s access, or hand yours to anyone else; or republish a work you have bought, whole or in substantial part. Access is personal — it is the one thing here that does not transfer.
If you do any of them, BSVSearch can end your access and close your account, and no money comes back: the payment was final when you made it (section 2). And what you would be taking is the creator’s work, not BSVSearch’s.
5. Prices are in satoshis — pay the exact amount
Prices here are set and owed in satoshis. Any figure shown in euros or dollars is an informational estimate, converted at a rate taken once a day. The satoshi amount is what you owe, and every invoice permanently records the rate used, when it was taken, and where it came from.
Your payment is recognised by its exact amount arriving at the exact address. Pay exactly what the invoice shows, while it is valid — invoices last one hour.
A different amount will not unlock access automatically. It is flagged and sorted out by hand. Your money is not lost in that case: it is on the blockchain, at the address you sent it to. A payment that arrives after the invoice has lapsed is still honoured if its amount uniquely matches that invoice, within a reasonable window — not indefinitely.
6. If your wallet pays one recipient at a time
A purchase has two payments: the creator’s and the platform fee. Wallets that can send both in a single transaction do so; wallets that cannot send two simple payments instead. Either is fine — access opens when both amounts have been seen.
If only one arrives, access is not released. You will get an email explaining that, and asking you to check both payments. If you have in fact paid both, the case has already been passed to BSVSearch for review.
7. How long access lasts
Access starts at purchase and runs for the duration shown on the work.
Single use means a 24-hour window starting from your first access — the first time you open or download it. Within those 24 hours you may open or re-download the work as often as you need, so an interrupted download never costs you a second purchase. When the window closes, access ends.
Unlimited means for as long as BSVSearch hosts the work. It is a service window, not a promise of forever.
Before a longer period of access runs out, BSVSearch emails you once: seven days ahead if you bought a month or more, twenty-four hours ahead if you bought less than a month. Single-use, one-day and unlimited access get no reminder — the first two are over too quickly for one to help, and the third has nothing to count down to. Extending is simply buying again, on whatever terms apply then.
When access ends, it ends. Anything you downloaded while it was live stays covered by this licence — it does not become yours to pass on.
8. Your account, your purchase record, and your privacy
Buying requires an account. You are responsible for your account credentials and for the wallet you pay from — a lost private key is not something BSVSearch or a creator can undo, for you or for anybody else.
Your transaction ID is shown to you at purchase and kept with your purchase record, and you can check it on any block explorer without taking BSVSearch’s word for anything.
The creator sees your username against their sales. They do not see your email address.
The payment note BSVSearch suggests to your wallet carries only an invoice reference — never the title of the work. Anything written into a transaction is public forever, and what you read is nobody else’s business.
9. What your purchase locks in, and what it does not
Your purchase permanently records its own copy of the price you paid, the modes, the duration, the expiry date and a fingerprint of the work as it was at that moment. Nothing the creator does afterwards changes any of that.
The work itself is served as its current version. If the creator updates it, you get the update. Updates are a possibility, not a promise, and older versions are not kept. If a creator wants to sell a new version separately, they have to publish it as a new work — they cannot make you pay again for the one you already bought.
10. If a creator withdraws a work
Withdrawal stops new sales and removes the public preview. It does not revoke access someone has already paid for.
11. If a work is removed after an infringement claim
This is the one exception to section 10.
When someone claims a work infringes their rights and the claim is accepted for review, the work is quarantined: it comes down, and all access — including access people have paid for — is suspended while the claim runs. Suspended is not cancelled.
- If the claim is dropped or not pursued, the work goes back up and your access is restored and extended by however long it was suspended. A false claim leaves you exactly where you were.
- If the infringement is established, the suspension becomes permanent. BSVSearch will tell you, and your recourse is against the seller — who was paid directly, and whose account is sanctioned.
12. If payment succeeded but delivery failed
Tell BSVSearch and it will restore your access, or reissue the work. That is the remedy: access, never money. Everything sold here is digital and can be served again, so no failure needs to end in anybody owing anybody money — and BSVSearch has no money of yours to give back in any case.
If BSVSearch genuinely cannot deliver a work any more — the creator removed it and it is gone — it will say so plainly rather than leave you waiting. If you believe you should be made whole, say so: BSVSearch will put that to the creator on your behalf and tell you what they say. It cannot promise the answer, and it has no money of yours to return, but it will not leave you to chase it alone.
13. Works inscribed on the blockchain
Some works are inscribed on the BSV blockchain rather than stored on BSVSearch. Where a work says so, the underlying data is publicly readable by anyone who locates it on the chain. Your purchase buys access, convenience and support for the creator — not exclusivity. The transaction ID is shown to you after purchase.
14. If BSVSearch stops operating
If BSVSearch ceases operating, we will give reasonable notice where circumstances allow, so creators can retrieve their works and buyers can download what they have access to. No refunds arise from cessation — BSVSearch never holds funds.
15. Versioning
These terms are versioned rather than amended. The version in force when you buy is recorded with your purchase and continues to govern it. A new version applies only to purchases made after it takes effect.
The same holds for creators: each sale of a work is governed by the version in force at the time of that sale, and a creator who does not want to sell under a new version can withdraw the work — which stops new sales without touching access anyone has already paid for (section 10).
These terms cover purchases made by people, through the website. Buying by machine — bots and AI agents paying without a person present — is not offered yet; when it is, it will be covered by a new version of this document, not bolted onto this one.
16. This is an experimental service
BSVSearch’s paid-content features are an experimental, small-scale service, provided as-is. Features may change, be suspended, or end. You must be 18 or older and legally able to enter into a contract to buy here.
