Spend Bitcoin SV (BSV) without exposing your Private Key using Sovereign Pay Offline Signing
If anybody knows the private key of the address where you keep your BSV, they can steal it. But to spend your BSV, you have to use that private key to sign the transaction, and most wallets make you do that on a device connected to the internet. One way around this is to spread your BSV in small amounts over many addresses and not worry too much: reuse an address once or twice until its balance is gone, then move on to the next one. Another way is to send your change and the rest of your balance to a fresh address every time you transact, so a private key is only ever used once. You’ll go through a lot of addresses. There is a third way. What if you could sign a transaction without your private key ever touching a device that’s connected to the big bad internet? That’s offline signing. In this video I show you how to do it with SovereignPay: build the transaction on an online device, sign it on a second device with no internet access, and pass the signed transaction back with a QR code. The demo uses a phone with its internet switched off, plus a USB stick for the key.
